Our Unique Approach to Cardiovascular Conditions

Cardiovascular diseases are a group of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels and remain a leading cause of death and disability worldwide — driven by risk factors such as hypertension, which alone accounts for over 10 million deaths annually, demanding a targeted and regenerative therapeutic response.

Cardiovascular Disease Overview

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) encompass a broad group of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels and are a leading cause of death and disability globally. Hypertension commonly known as high blood pressure is a major risk factor for CVD and is responsible for over 10 million deaths annually worldwide, highlighting the urgent need for effective long-term interventions.

MSC Suitability for Cardiovascular Use

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) possess characteristics that make them well-suited for treating cardiovascular conditions. They can be amplified and renewed in laboratory settings, carry low immunogenicity minimising the risk of immune rejection and exhibit immunomodulatory properties. Under specific conditions, MSCs can also differentiate into various specialised cell types.

MSC Myocardial Protection

In the context of the cardiovascular system, MSCs have shown significant promise in myocardial protection. They reduce inflammation levels, encourage the differentiation of myocardial cells around areas of heart damage, and promote angiogenesis the formation of new blood vessels helping restore blood supply to compromised cardiac tissue.

Cardiac Repair & Regeneration

MSCs enhance cellular resistance to apoptosis (cell death) and inhibit fibrosis, making them highly desirable for cardiovascular repair and tissue regeneration. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that MSC transplantation yields meaningful improvements in cardiac repair outcomes, offering a compelling regenerative avenue for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
