Joint Paint

Chronic pain caused by arthritis affects millions of people in the United States every year, according to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention). About one in four adults with arthritis report experiencing severe joint pain related to arthritis. Additionally, nearly half of the adults with arthritis have persistent pain. Even children with arthritis experience pain.

Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapies have been used as cell-based treatments for decades due to their anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and regenerative properties. Ongoing clinical trials are investigating the safety and efficacy of MSC therapies to treat arthritic diseases, raising high expectations. Positive clinical outcomes have been observed in studies on osteoarthritis (OA), including improved joint function, reduced pain levels, and enhanced quality of life. Some clinical MSC trials conducted on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients have also shown promising results. The largely positive outcomes in these clinical trials, without severe side effects, establish MSCs as promising tools for arthritis treatment.
